Auditorium refers to a multifunctional place for holding large-scale celebrations, meetings, reports, ceremonies, watching movies, performing activities or gatherings.

Multifunctional auditoriums are generally composed of three parts:
① The place for meetings and performances - the rostrum (stage) or other forms of performance space;
② The place for watching meetings or performances - the auditorium;
③ Other ancillary performance spaces - places for performers to rest and change clothes. The evolution of multifunctional auditoriums, in addition to being restricted by material and technical conditions and influenced by architectural ideas, is mainly determined by the changes in the functions, scales and their mutual relationships of these three parts.

Multifunctional auditoriums are mostly equipped with a frame stage. Common auditorium types are divided according to the overall shape of the interior of the building:

5. Horseshoe shape
6. Hexagonal
